Michael Vick Leads Eagles to Huge Victory Over Redskins

The Philadelphia Eagles beat the Washington Redskins Monday night by a huge score off 59-28, marking the most points scored by a single team ever on Monday Night Football. This was almost all because of the phenomenal play of #7 for Philly, Michael Vick.

Perhaps having the best game of his career, he passed for 333 yards and four touchdowns. They were caught by receivers DeShaun Jackson, Jeremy Maclin, Jason Avant, and running back LeShaun McCoy. Newly acquired running back Jerome Harrison added a rushing touchdown, but Vick ran for 2.

In all, Michael Vick scored 6 total touchdowns, passed for 333 yards, completed 71% of passes. He ran for 80 yards as well.

Vick really had a great game in front of a national audience. He reminded us that his legs still work, his arm still strong, and that even though people hate him and he was in jail for dog fighting charges, he can play. I think people need to forgive him, and realize he has changed.

Vick is back and here to stay for more years to come, and Philly has a true quarter back for a few more seasons.

Cowboys Fire Wade Phillips

The 1-7 Cowboys have fired coach Wade Phillips after an embarrassing loss to Green Bay, and first half of season. Offensive coordinator Jason Garret will take over as the head coach for the remainder of the season.

"An in-season coaching change is not something I've done before, something I was reluctant to do as recently as last week, but I think what's best for the organization and the fans is a coaching change." Owner Jerry Jones said on Monday.

Nothing has gone right for Dallas this season. A weak offensive line is mostly to blame, or perhaps a 38 year old quarterback taking the snaps now. But this whole team is a mess and has lost all confidence. This move was expected sooner then later.

All in all, I feel the Cowboys season has lost all hopes. Good news is, they can draft the best OL in April.

Michael Vick and Larry Johnson

Michael Vick is now the starting Eagles quarterback. He started in place for the injured Kevin Kolb last week. Now, for the first time since 2006, he is the official starting QB.

When Vick was reinstated, I thought after a year in Philly he would be released and start on another team like Oakland, St Louis, or Kansas City. Even if McNabb was traded.

I do believe Vick will be successful as a starter and play like he did with the Falcons for the next few years. But I still don't see the Eagles making the playoffs this year.

In other news, the Washington Redskins released runningback Larry Johnson today. Johnson has 2 yards on 5 rushes so far this year.

This move was expected as the Redskins backfield was a log jam and was headed for disaster.

Johnson will probably be signed sometime this year, but I would be very surprised to ever see him regain this old form.
